Regulations Pertaining to Accidents

General categories of accident reporting required for regulated devices:

  • Severe injuries
  • Injuries treated by a physician
  • Injuries requiring on-site first aid
  • Major equipment damage

Reporting Criteria:

Injuries requiring immediate transport to the hospital must be reported within 24 hours.

Procedure/Authority for Investigating Accidents:

State inspectors are authorized to seal out unit after notification of accident. State inspector must perform re-inspection within 24 hours to determine if ride can be put back in operation. State does not perform investigation to determine cause(s) of accident.
